Water Network Maintenance and Repair Team Lead – Dublin
Your New Company
Our client is seeking an experienced Water Network Maintenance and Repair Team Lead to oversee field-based maintenance and repair operations across the Dublin region. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on roadworks, traffic management, and delivery of water network repair activities. Leakage experience is beneficial but secondary, as the core requirement is maintenance and repair expertise.
The role involves leading operational teams on site, managing daily work, and ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise maintenance and repair crews working on water network assets.
- Take responsibility for roadworks and traffic management, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance and repair work on water mains, valves, and associated assets.
- Oversee and participate in excavation works for underground water services, including locating and repairing burst mains and valves.
- Act as the on-site lead, providing technical direction and support to team members
- Ensure works are delivered in line with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Manage people-related responsibilities including:
- Day-to-day supervision and coordination
- Performance management
- Absence management
- Complete all associated administrative duties, including reporting, job documentation, and record keeping
- Liaise with operational management and wider teams to ensure effective service delivery
- Drive company vehicles to and from work locations across the Dublin region, as required
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in roadworks within utilities, civil engineering, maintenance or similar environments
- Strong traffic management experience
- Solid background in water network maintenance and repair
- Hands-on experience with:
- Excavation and reinstatement works
- Underground water services
- Burst mains and valves
- Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or team leader role
- Strong people management and administrative skills
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a field-based role
- A full clean driving licence is essential, as the role requires regular driving between sites.
Desirable
- Leakage detection or leakage repair experience (not essential)
- Experience working within the utilities or water sector
- Salary: €50,000 – €60,000 range (DOE)
