Your New Role
In your new role as Utilities Design Manager, you will be working on key Irish infrastructure projects, providing overall technical leadership for utility design and coordination. This role involves close collaboration with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure timely approvals, integration with enabling works, and effective risk mitigation. You will play a key role in driving design excellence and ensuring utility works are delivered efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall technical leadership for utility design across major infrastructure projects.
 - Act as the primary liaison with clients, utility providers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and approvals.
 - Oversee the integration of utility designs with enabling and main works, ensuring
 - Constructability and programme alignment.
 - Lead the design approval process, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory
 - Requirements.
 - Identify and mitigate risks associated with utility diversions and new installations.
 - Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of utility-related
 - Works.
 - Support value engineering and innovation in utility design solutions.
 - Monitor and report on design progress, risks, and issues to project leadership.
 
What You Need to Succeed
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is essential.
 - Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
 - Proven experience in leading utility design on large-scale infrastructure projects.
 - Strong understanding of Irish utility regulations, codes, and approval processes.
 - Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
 - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
 - Experience with enabling works and early-stage project planning is advantageous.
