Transport Major Projects Manager role with leading Engineering Consultancy

Your new company

One of Ireland’s leading providers of professional engineering consulting services, with a strong presence nationwide and a rapidly growing transportation division. The organisation delivers major road, rail, public transport, active travel and public realm projects across Ireland and is seeking a senior leader to join its Cork office.


Your new role

As Transport Major Projects Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the transportation team, supporting and driving the delivery of major infrastructure schemes throughout Ireland.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing project teams, mentoring staff and contributing to resource planning.
  • Managing the planning and design of major transport projects, including feasibility, preliminary and detailed design stages.
  • Overseeing the preparation and delivery of EIAR and CPO documentation.
  • Administering construction contracts and supporting procurement processes.
  • Representing the company at meetings, steering groups and Oral Hearings where required.
  • Engaging in business development activities, including client relationship management, market intelligence gathering and leading bid submissions for major transport projects.


What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in a transport consultancy environment.
  • Level 8/9 degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Strong technical knowledge of applicable Irish and international design standards, with the ability to create buildable, value‑driven solutions.
  • Experience working on major transport schemes in Ireland across planning, design, statutory processes, procurement and construction supervision.
  • Experience with NEC and Irish Public Works Contracts.
  • Familiarity with design-and-build project delivery.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering tools.
  • Full Irish / EU driving licence.
