Tenancy Service Officer / Housing Officer

Your New Role
As a Housing Officer, you will play a key role in managing tenancies and supporting residents to maintain successful and sustainable living arrangements. Your responsibilities will include:
Tenancy Management: Overseeing the start, duration, and end of tenancies, including sign-ups, renewals, and terminations.

•Rent Collection & Arrears Management: Monitoring rent accounts, engaging with tenants to resolve arrears, and working with finance teams to ensure timely payments.
•Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): Investigating complaints, liaising with enforcement agencies, and implementing appropriate interventions.
•Property Inspections: Conducting regular estate and property inspections to ensure standards are maintained and repairs are identified.
•Resident Engagement: Building strong relationships with tenants, responding to queries, and promoting community initiatives.
•Partnership Working: Collaborating with social services, support agencies, and internal departments to provide holistic support to residents.
•Safeguarding & Welfare: Identifying vulnerable tenants and ensuring appropriate referrals and support mechanisms are in place.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
•Proven experience in a housing management or tenancy support role.
•Strong understanding of housing legislation, tenancy law, and safeguarding practices.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues professionally.
•Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload with strong organisational skills.
•Proficiency in using housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
•A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (if fieldwork is required).
•CIH Level 3 or above (desirable but not essential).
