Senior Software Engineer – 6-month Contract

Contract role fully remote
Need to be based in Ireland
Eu citizen/ Stamp 4
6-month contract
Need a software developer with experience in AWS, ci/cd pipelines, DevOps (Any language)

Your new company

The organization is a technology company focused on developing digital solutions that improve operational efficiency and support better decision-making in a highly regulated industry. Its work centers on creating software platforms that help professionals manage complex workflows, streamline communication, and enhance the quality and consistency of services.

Your new role
  • Take features and problems from a rough idea or ticket through to production, then keep them running.
  • Prototype and productionise AI workflows: prompt engineering, LLM integration, evaluation, and orchestration.
  • Work across the stack as needed (backend, front end, infrastructure) rather than staying in a single lane.
  • Make sensible calls when requirements are incomplete, and tighten them up as you go rather than waiting to be told.

What you'll need to succeed
Cloud and DevOps (AWS focus)
  • Strong cloud skills, AWS in particular. Comfortable with the core services we rely on (compute, networking, storage, databases, queues, IAM, observability) and able to reason about cost, security, and reliability.
  • DevOps mentality. You build it, you test it, you ship it, you own it. The deploy pipeline, monitoring, and day-to-day operability of your work are part of the role.
  • Infrastructure as a first-class concern. Comfortable with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containers, and automating the path from commit to production.
Engineering ability
  • Mid-to-senior level. Able to jump straight into diagnosing and shipping, taking work from definition to deployed with minimal hand-holding.
  • Strong generalist. Solid fundamentals that transfer across languages and frameworks; you learn a new codebase or technology quickly rather than relying on one specific stack.
  • Quality-minded. Writes testable code, owns its testing, and cares what happens after release.
  • AI product experience. Hands-on with LLMs and AI APIs (prompt design, evaluation, and orchestration) and able to take AI features from prototype to production. A strong plus.
Ways of working
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Thrives where processes are still being built, and helps build them rather than waiting for them.
  • Self-driven. Picks up work without being told and recognises urgency.
  • Communicates proactively. Frequent, specific updates.
  • Candid and collaborative. Gives direct feedback on how we work, and works well both independently and as part of the team.
  • Strong AI tooling fluency. Knows how to prompt AI well, with hands-on experience using AI dev tools and coding agents.
