Site Manager role with growing Cork-based construction contractor

Your new role
As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and to the highest quality standards.
You will lead by example in safety, overseeing the implementation of RAMS, EHS inductions, safe systems of work, and statutory responsibilities under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, including PSCS duties where applicable. You will manage site audits, inspections, and close‑out of actions while liaising closely with all project stakeholders.
From a quality and technical perspective, you will oversee workmanship standards, manage inspections and test plans, raise RFIs and confirmations of verbal instructions, coordinate BCAR requirements (where applicable), and prepare project handover documentation. You will proactively identify and close out defects and Nonconformist in collaboration with subcontractors and the design team.
Project management duties will include coordinating daily site operations, maintaining detailed site records, updating the project programme, managing registers (RAMS, submittals, RFIs), chairing site meetings, reporting progress, supporting commercial activities, and identifying and mitigating risks to delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience working as a Site Manager on construction projects
Strong knowledge of Irish health, safety, and welfare legislation and site practices
Experience implementing RAMS, EHS inductions, inspections, and site audits
A strong focus on quality, workmanship, and technical compliance
Ability to manage programmes, site records, registers, and reporting
Excellent communication and leadership skills with subcontractors, clients, and design teams
Experience supporting commercial processes, including variations and payments
A proactive approach to problem‑solving, risk management, and continuous improvement
Willingness to engage in CPD and ongoing professional development
