Site Engineer - Residential Project - Dublin

Your new company

Your new company is a tier one Building Contractor in Ireland, operating across all sectors, including Commercial, Residential, Sports & Leisure, Education and Fit Out. With offices located nationwide. They require an experienced Senior Engineer who has hands-on experience and has some team lead or mentoring experience, to lead a team who are all involved in all aspects of the residential build from the ground up to completion.

Your new role

As Senior Engineer, you will work in conjunction with the Project Manager, providing mentoring, structure, and guidance by leading by example. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of detailed technical designs for strategic projects (including calculations, drawings, risk assessments and design certificates) as well as proposing and/or developing value engineered alternative solutions (during tender or construction phases). You will provide technical solutions to an established Engineering team while liaising with Subcontractors, Technical Office Team and Suppliers. You will be involved in developing, instigating and maintaining processes, procedures and standards for technical design.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Completed a third level Engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience mentoring and managing teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Is competent in the use of digital information systems, i.e. A-Site, Viewpoint for Projects, etc.
  • A broad range of technical exposure, within the following trades - Piling, Geotechnical, Substructures (including Waterproofing),
  • Ability to assess and advise on construction outputs and develop and report on construction programmes.
  • Understanding of current H&S legislation
  • Superstructures Facades and intricate internal works, basic mechanical and electrical systems
  • Trained in the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) role
