Your New Role
As a Shift Floater, you will step in to cover for absent staff, work across multiple departments, and adapt to a variety of tasks to help maintain smooth operations, particularly during unexpected situations. This position demands a high level of flexibility, quick learning, strong communication skills, and the ability to transition between roles and responsibilities to support different teams and ensure consistent productivity.
This role falls under the Engineering and Technical Services function, which is responsible for providing support, performing preventive maintenance, and carrying out repairs on equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the client’s SCADA system to identify faults and irregularities.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems within the facility.
- Assist in the modification and upgrade of building equipment and infrastructure.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate required time and materials, and track progress using available systems.
- Contribute to energy efficiency efforts by ensuring all systems operate at optimal performance levels.
- Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary to complete maintenance tasks.
- Inspect existing installations to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and safety standards.
- Apply established procedures to resolve routine issues, with limited scope for independent decision-making.
- Perform tasks with clearly defined responsibilities, following detailed methods and instructions.
- Deliver work outputs by adhering to standard processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Physically capable of performing tasks such as stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting or carrying loads of 50 lbs (23 kg) or more.
- Able to follow established routines and standards in daily work activities.
- Possesses clear communication skills for sharing straightforward information effectively.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrates strong organisational abilities and a curious, problem-solving mindset.
