Your new company
Your new organisation is a Tier one construction contractor with a portfolio of works of over €1bn across Ireland and Europe. They operate across a wide selection of industries and have a dominant presence in Ireland's construction market. Industries consist of data residential / large-scale infrastructure and a building division covering areas of residential/commercial/industrial etc.
Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility and ownership of the project, working closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and the construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk.
Selection of duties:
- Liaise with & commercially influence/challenge the other members of the team and the construction process.
- Take ownership of, administer & represent the company in commercial & contractual issues, including but not limited to:
- Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate s/c & finalising s/c orders, financial & commercially managing to final account completion.
- Prepare & present forecasts, targets & CV reconciliations.
- Prepare & agree valuations, including generating certificates &invoices/payments.
- Variations are prepared with adequate/appropriate records, agreed as work progress.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Quantity Surveying capacity, across large-scale projects valued at €30m+
- Ability to communicate articulately, both verbally and in writing
- Manage both people & situations sensitively to commercial advantage.
- Commercially inventive & astute
- Demonstrate ownership and commercial awareness
- Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Have experience mentoring and managing others
- Able to balance the need to be assertive and pragmatic when dealing with a broad range of stakeholders

For the right person, this financial package is negotiable. They have flexible budgets in place and may also facilitate hourly/day rate options.
On a salary setup, this will be in the €90,000 region. This will include a Discretionary bonus.

You will initially have one day working from home and this will rise to two days after a short period of time.
