Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a major role in the commercial management of a complex construction project. You will lead cost control activities, manage subcontractor accounts, support procurement, and provide strategic commercial input throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Measuring work packages, producing cost build‑ups, and applying appropriate rates.
- Managing project budgets in line with direction from senior project leadership.
- Preparing and presenting monthly commercial reports.
- Attending commercial and subcontractor meetings to review performance and resolve issues.
- Overseeing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, appointments, and ongoing commercial management.
- Preparing and submitting valuations, claims, contract notices and final accounts.
- Maintaining accurate documentation for cost changes, variations, and entitlement.
- Acting as a senior commercial point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years’ experience in a similar senior commercial role.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in subcontract management and cost reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within fast‑paced, large‑scale construction environments.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience delivering on technically complex projects (data centre or mission‑critical environments advantageous).
