Senior Quantity Surveyor - Construction Projects - Meath Based

Your new company

You will be joining a well‑established main contractor with a strong project footprint across the north midlands and greater Dublin region. The organisation delivers a range of construction projects and is known for high standards, collaboration, and a commitment to professional excellence. You will become part of an experienced commercial team contributing directly to the successful financial management of major developments.

Your new role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key commercial role from project inception through to completion. You will take responsibility for managing costs, contracts, reporting, procurement, and stakeholder coordination on site.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing projects from subcontract procurement through to final account settlement.
  • Measuring, quantifying, and managing project costs with strong commercial awareness.
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, evaluating tenders, negotiating terms, and ensuring contract compliance.
  • Preparing interim valuations, processing variations, and maintaining structured commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attending progress and cost meetings while liaising with clients, design teams and subcontractors.
  • Compiling cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and general cost reports.
  • Ensuring clear, accurate and timely contract administration while proactively managing commercial risk.
  • Working closely with Project Managers to ensure projects meet programme, budget and quality targets.
What you’ll need to succeed

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar senior commercial role.
  • Strong initiative, excellent industry knowledge, and the ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team.
  • Excellent IT skills, including confidence in Excel, Buildsoft, and Cubit.
  • Excellent measurement and quantification skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts from procurement through to final accounts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and report‑writing skills.
