Your new role
Senior Payroll Coordinator to join the Global Business Services team in Cork. Reporting to the Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll Manager, this role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll for assigned countries or entities, with a strong focus on France payroll.
Payroll Processing & Operations
- End-to-end payroll processing for assigned countries/entities
- Review and validate payroll inputs, calculations, and outputs
- Process all payroll changes accurately (new hires, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime, benefits, leave, etc.)
- Manage payroll calendars, cut-off dates, and statutory submission deadlines
- Indirectly lead and support a payroll team of 2 employees
- Manage country payroll mailboxes and checklists
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and social security requirements
- Support internal and external payroll audits
- Maintain payroll controls, reconciliations, and sign-off procedures
- Act as global owner of legislative updates and payroll change requests
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key payroll contact for employees, HR, Finance, and external vendors.
- Resolve complex payroll queries professionally and confidentially
- Manage third-party payroll providers and service levels
- Maintain internal trackers and key relationships
Reporting & Reconciliations
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Ensure payroll costs are accurately posted to the general ledger
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements
- Support payroll transitions, system enhancements, and global initiatives
- Coach and support payroll team members
- Assist with data gathering, investigations, and ad-hoc requests
What you'll need to succeed
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in French payroll processing
- Experience in a multinational or shared services environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and statutory requirements
- Proven experience managing complex payrolls
- Experience working with third-party payroll providers (highly desirable)
- Experience in a global payroll environment
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong Excel skills and payroll system experience (e.g. Workday, SAP, ADP)
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
Education & Languages
- Payroll or accounting qualification (IPASS, CIPP, or equivalent) desirable
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Fluent English and French (additional languages an advantage)
