A senior estimator is required by a large construction company. Can be based in Galway or Limerick.

Estimator, Galway or Limerick
Company: Our Client is a large building contractor in the Mid-West and West of Ireland. They are involved in various projects throughout Ireland. They are now seeking to recruit a senior level estimator and the position could be based in Galway or Limerick. You must have previous experience of working with main building contractors in Ireland. They have extensive experience of working on commercial, retail, leisure, hotels, offices and other projects in Ireland. They have seen excellent growth in recent years and are continually striving to grow their business by recruiting top professionals. They are now seeking to recruit an experienced Estimator that has more than 5 years’ experience working within the building industry in Ireland.

As a senior estimator, your responsibilities will include:
  • To develop tender information into a competent price and present the same at the review stage. To work within the tender team to maximise all opportunities to achieve the best net cost estimate.
  • Prepare the financial elements of the tender
  • Gathering and sourcing pre-project information
  • Liaising with clients and subcontractors
  • Dealing with financial contracts and variations
  • Preparation of tender reports
  • Post tender negotiations
  • Incorporate all current subcontract and materials costs into the tender.
  • Work in the tender team giving financial input for all programmes, temporary works and other associated issues.
  • Prepare tender papers and present at the review as required.
  • Price preliminaries and reconcile pricing with the planning team
  • Adherence to Company policies and procedures
  • Work as a Quantity Surveyor where the need arises

Person Specification:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Degree qualified in construction economics / quantity surveying
  • Strong operational skills and an attention to detail
  • A strong team player who is customer focused.
  • Proven ability to win contracts
  • Excellent communication skills
