Senior Estimator – Electrical Contracting

Hays Recruitment is seeking a Senior Estimator to join a leading electrical contracting company in Cork. This role offers the chance to shape high-profile projects across the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and Commercial sectors by delivering accurate and competitive costings that drive success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review technical drawings and design documentation to provide precise project costing.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive cost estimates for large-scale projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and finalise estimates
  • Analyse project requirements and assess subcontractor quotations
  • Coordinate with project teams to source materials and ensure bids align with company objectives
  • Manage tenders while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications & Skills
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
  • Proficiency in estimation software, cost modelling, and budgeting tools
  • Ability to interpret technical and design drawings accurately
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in electrical contracting
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and project management abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for supplier and client collaboration
  • Previous experience in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, or Commercial sectors is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
