Senior Engineer - Residential Building Contractor in North Dublin

Your new company

You will be joining a well‑established and rapidly expanding residential building contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high‑quality housing and apartment developments across Ireland. This company is known for its strong project pipeline, collaborative culture, and commitment to technical excellence. With multiple large-scale residential schemes underway, they offer a stable and progressive environment for an ambitious Senior Engineer to advance their career. This company is the leading contractor for some of the largest developers in Dublin with an annual turnover of €200 - €300 million.

Your new role

As Senior Engineer, you will take a key technical lead across a major residential development, overseeing engineering functions on site and supporting the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure project delivery to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering and technical activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with specifications.
  • Set out, level, and survey the site using modern surveying equipment.
  • Review drawings, structural details, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring engineering compliance and resolving technical queries.
  • Manage quality control, inspections, and record‑keeping throughout each phase of the project.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and reporting to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to building regulations, health & safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performing engineering team.


What you'll need to succeed

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer within residential or commercial construction.
  • Strong experience in setting out, surveying, and managing site engineering functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Procore.
  • Excellent understanding of building regulations, technical drawings, and modern construction methods.
  • Ability to lead engineering activities and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or similar.
  • Proficiency with GPS, Total Station, and digital surveying tools.
