With an extensive residential landbank and a growing pipeline of developments, the company is currently delivering a number of high-density apartment projects ranging from 30 to 300 units, alongside traditional low-density housing schemes.
The construction division works closely with the in-house development team throughout the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and buildability reviews through to fast-track delivery, subcontractor management, design coordination, and final handover. Collaboration across commercial, investment, and sales functions ensures a best-in-class standard of delivery and a high-quality end product aligned with both business objectives and customer expectations.
Your new role
The Senior Engineer is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and technical delivery of key works packages, acting as the primary main contactor liaison with subcontractors for the resolution of technical queries and bottlenecks as they arise. Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor, principal accountabilities include ensuring timely and accurate flow of information between the design team and subcontractors and overseeing the implementation of the Quality Management System.
Key Accountabilities of the Senior Engineer role include:
• Overseeing technical delivery of critical works packages including site development; sub-structures; super structure; envelope and certain internal works.
• Coordination of subcontract packages to ensure effective sequencing and programming of the works including reviewing design and prioritising Information requirements – tracking RFIs & Information Release Schedule
• Upfront resolution of technical queries and buildability issues in conjunction with the Project Design Team, Design Manager and Subcontractors, to determine optimum building system selection and assist long-lead materials ordering
• Overseeing the Site Engineers responsible for establishing control points, setting grids, establishing formation levels, checking works package engineers and production of as-built surveys
• Stewardship of the Technical Quality Control process to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, FSC and DAC requirements, including managing the Submittals and Benchmarking process
• Managing the building teams Project Inspection Plan, ensuring appropriate quality control check systems, installation method inspections and materials testing procedures in place and implemented
• Coordinating the input of design team, assigned certifier and insurance representative inspections at key stages and hold-points. Tracking / analysing inspection and tests results to ensure early identification and timely closeout of Observations and IFCO’s raised as part of the BCAR process
• Management / monitoring of temporary works installation (inc. excavation support, floor propping, scaffolding etc), liaising with Temporary works designer. Monitoring the structural integrity of adjoining neighbouring building.
Providing Technical support to the Health and Safety manager in developing and executing the Project Health and Safety plan, construction managemnet plan, environmental plan etc.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree Qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline with c.5 years post qualification experience- Strong project management mindset with a clear understanding of the relationship between design coordination, procurement, and successful on-time project delivery
- Solid technical knowledge of high-density residential apartment construction, including key design elements, assemblies, and multidisciplinary coordination challenges affecting quality, programme, and cost
- Good understanding of value engineering principles and modern methods of construction (MMC)
- Familiarity with Building Regulations and Technical Guidance Documents, with the ability to apply these requirements within high-density residential developments
- Proactive, solutions-driven, and results-oriented approach to project delivery
