Senior Electrical Engineer required on-site for leading M&E contractor on Dublin-based Date Centre project

They offer a full mechanical and electrical contracting services as well as specialist high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) design and construction services. Your new role
- Design and review of electrical system designs for a range of projects
- Act as a sounding board for electrical engineers in the office, offering design direction and guidance − Peer review of designs and specifications of electrical systems
- Play an active role in developing the electrical team's technical capability.
- Be expected to lead projects and represent the client externally in project and technical meetings.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and contacts on new and emerging technologies and their application
- Ensure that their quality system is implemented and maintained on all projects
- Support with business development and identifying opportunities for new work, including assistance with project bid and interview phase.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, from an accredited institution (equivalent qualifications in a similar field may also be considered)
- IT literate, with good knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications
- Chartered Engineer status and relevant accreditations
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels across multiple disciplines, as well as familiarity with external clients
- Very strong technical skills required (minimum 10 years electrical building services design experience; ideally 15+ years)
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to make informed decisions
- Knowledge of electrical design principles, standards and codes, and design guides (including BCO)
- A strong understanding of various electrical systems and their applications.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills, and a “think outside the box” mentality
- Familiarity with the full range of design stages, from concept right through to detailed design and construction administration.
- A general understanding of other engineering disciplines, including electrical, public health and fire protection, is highly desirable.
