Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Dublin) 65k - 80k (Building Services Experience Required)

Your new company is a market leading engineering consultancy in Ireland established 80 years ago. They are specialists in Building Services, Environmental, and Sustainable design solutions, and they have attained BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and LEED ‘Platinum’ accreditation on their projects.
With over 4000 projects in their portfolio to-date across all sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education, they are currently experiencing an exciting period of growth. They are hiring a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team.
Your New Role
In your new role as Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be working on their Commercial and Education projects across Ireland. You are expected to have a detailed understanding of electrical engineering and design fundamentals and core principles, as well as be self-assured to work independently and in support of your wider team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead the Electrical Services design for a range of projects
- Design and specification of electrical services for various types of buildings and sectors
- Produce detailed schematics
- Develop the electrical design standards within the organisation
- Mentor junior engineering staff
- Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
- Tender report/analysis/recommendations
- Develop project scope with the design team/client
- Confidently use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT
- Produce budgets and reports for clients
- Attend site visits
- Take the lead on projects with minimal input from the management team
What You Need to Succeed
- Honours Degree – Chartered an advantage but not essential
- 6+ years of experience as an Engineer
- Electrical building services design experience within Commercial and Education engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques
- Deep knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT is an advantage.
- Confident leading projects from the concept stage to completion
- Communicative and able to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers
- Manage the specification and design of Electrical Building Services systems for a range of projects
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
