Senior Civils Project Manager - Transport Projects – North Dublin Based

Your new role

In your new role as a Senior Project Manager, you will take the lead in the delivery of enabling works packages on a major infrastructure programme. Operating in a client‑side capacity, you will manage contractors and consultants, oversee programme and cost performance, and ensure safe, compliant delivery on site.
You will bring strong civil engineering experience, ideally with exposure to enabling works, utilities, early works or linear infrastructure. Experience working under Public Works Contracts (PWC) is essential, with NEC experience considered an advantage.

A selection of your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of enabling works from design through construction and handover
  • Acting as the client representative on site, ensuring safety, quality and compliance
  • Chairing progress meetings, technical reviews and coordination sessions
  • Managing delivery within live, constrained or operational environments
  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes
  • Identifying risks, delays and mitigation measures to protect key milestones
  • Managing interfaces between enabling works and downstream construction activities
  • Administering change control processes, including variations and claims
  • Maintaining accurate budget forecasts, cost reports and cash flow projections
  • Supporting commercial governance in line with public‑sector requirements
  • Administering works under Public Works Contracts (PWC)
  • Supporting contractual correspondence, claims assessment and contractor performance
  • Managing relationships with internal teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders
  • Preparing clear, structured reports and presentations for senior management


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • 6+ years’ experience delivering major infrastructure projects
  • Strong civil engineering background, ideally in enabling works, utilities or early works
  • Proven experience overseeing contractor delivery in complex environments
  • Direct experience working under the Public Works Contract (PWC) suite
  • NEC4 experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (desirable)
  • Strong programme planning, risk management and change control capability
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and manage multidisciplinary teams
  • Organised, commercially aware and delivery‑focused
  • Full Irish/EU driving licence
  • Positive, proactive and adaptable approach
