Senior Accounts Assistant required with a long-established company in Limerick City.

Your new company

This is a long-established, family-run enterprise based in Limerick, known for its strong presence in the motor retail sector. With several decades of experience, the business has grown into one of the most prominent players in its region.

Your new role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Accounts Assistant to support the Financial Controller in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Accounts Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and coding supplier invoices, performing regular bank reconciliations, and assisting with payroll duties. You will also help maintain accurate financial records, contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes, and liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders as needed. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

What you'll need to succeed

Candidates should hold a third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, such as an Accounting Technician certification. While being part-qualified by a professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is not essential, it would be considered an advantage. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a similar role, with strong numerical and analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. We are looking for someone who is highly responsible, trustworthy, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational and time-management skills are essential to meet deadlines and support the finance team effectively.

What you'll get in return

You’ll be joining a well-established and respected company with a strong reputation in its industry. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with internal resources and guidance to help you succeed in your role.
