Semi-State Role - Town Planner - Hybrid Working - €70,000 to €80,000

Your new company

Your new organisation is a Semi-State Utilities Body that is responsible for some of Ireland's key infrastructure. They operate nationwide with 31 local authorities along with construction developers and stakeholders. They have offices located nationally, and this position is located remotely and from a local office.


Your new role

(There are vacant roles currently, from Intermediate to Senior Level)

You will be responsible for the integrity and management of information for a selection of projects/programmes to be used for making key Asset Delivery decisions.


Selection of responsibilities listed below:
  • Support the work of the team in relation to development management and planning referral activities.
  • Provide GIS capabilities to the team in relation to the spatial aspects of the organisation's assets and their interface with statutory planning.
  • Contribute to short, medium, and long-term growth planning and forecasting.
  • Provide support with all engagement on planning application referrals received from Local Authorities, Water Services and Planning Authorities.
  • Advise Local Authority Water Service Engineers on preparation of observations/submissions in relation to development management.
  • Manage, organise and evaluate all incoming correspondence & data on planning matters for the Planning Referral Team.
  • Distribute to, and follow up with, relevant personnel all relevant requests for submissions, to ensure that reporting is complete, timely and accurate.
  • Support the team in the formulation, implementation and improvement of processes relating to regulatory requirements and company objectives.
  • Coordinate delivery of Strategic Housing Development, Strategic Infrastructure Development, Planning Appeals and compliance.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be suitable for this position, you must hold
  • A relevant degree in Spatial/Urban Planning.
  • Have a minimum of 4+ years post-graduation experience in a similar position, ideally with prior utility experience.
  • Preferable if you have experience using project, contract and finance management tools, (e.g. Primavera P6, Maximo, PCM and Oracle).
  • You must have strong commercial awareness of the governance, control and performance analysis of large-scale complex and varied portfolios.
  • Have strong communication skills coupled with excellent business acumen.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

You will be remunerated a very strong salary based on your experience level.
This is in the region of €50,000 to €80,000 for the correct person.
You will also receive 24 annual leave days / 10 paid Bank Holidays and 2 Company days.
