Semi-State Role - Senior Quantity Surveyor - Hybrid + Strong Benefit Package - Up to €73,000 salary

About the Role


The Asset Delivery function within the organisation is responsible for the end-to-end planning, designing and delivery of their portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations.


Responsibilities


  • Manage and progress cost and variation issues relating to construction contracts and the NSWC contracts, including liaising with the various business units to ensure efficient progression of payments in accordance with contract conditions.
  • Provide estimation support to the Quotation team for large network projects, based on first principals to deliver robust estimates and to develop early contractor engagement to support the estimation cost process.
  • Develop and manage a standardised suite of reports to improve reporting capability and to enable analysis.
  • Coordinate and monitor cost engineering activities to ensure availability of timely, accurate cost information, and forecasts via the GNI system tools and processes.
  • Provide support to Project Delivery Leads in developing Control Budgets / Costs / Forecasts with the Baseline Project Schedule and track any emerging trends and recommend corrective actions as required.
  • Support the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions on the Financial Systems including working with procurement and AP to ensure the correct treatment of contracts, changes and invoices.
  • Assist with development of pricing quotations for network connections and balancing level of pricing effort v risk in developing outturn costs.


Qualifications


  • Someone who has Utilities or Pharmaceutical or civils infrastructure or data centre experience. This role has the mix of civils, mechanical and Electrical experience.
  • A Quantity surveying qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience required working with project management, project controls, cost, scheduling, budget analysis, contract administration and change control estimating on large scale capital investment projects.
  • Good understanding of design, procurement, and construction management services processes and their inherent cost performance risks is required.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all project team members.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative and seek direction from Construction Manager or Project Engineer as required.
  • You will have a demonstrated ability of managing teams and building effective organisational working relationships to achieve shared goals and objectives.

You will fall into a salary band between
€58,000 and €73,000
(this depends on your experience and how you interview).
You will get a performance-related bonus of
7.5% and have a Semi State Pension up to 12%
