Opportunity Risk Management & Financial Crime

Your new company

One of Ireland’s largest financial companies with over 200 locations nationwide, which provides a diverse range of services in banking, financial and related services, is currently seeking a Risk Manager to work within a busy branch located in Dublin.

Your new role

Key Responsibilities – Financial Crime Risk Management
  1. Proactively contribute to effective risk management practices across all Financial Crime teams, working independently and collaboratively.
  2. Continuously challenge and improve existing processes and controls to enhance risk mitigation and quality assurance standards.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and support other risk management activities across the Financial Crime function.
  4. Build strong relationships across business areas while maintaining independent oversight to manage financial crime risks effectively.
  5. Review and challenge the current risk and control framework to ensure it remains robust and fit for purpose.
  6. Prepare and manage governance forums at both local and group levels, providing updates on Financial Crime activities and initiatives.
  7. Lead and develop a team of risk specialists to deliver on strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

  1. Minimum of 3–5 years' banking/financial services experience desirable
  2. Proven ability to build stakeholder relationships.
  3. Strong communication (written and verbal) and have strong MS Word, Access, and Excel skills. Ability to prepare and present complex information.
  4. Previous experience as a risk manager with expertise in AML, Fraud and Sanctions, operational risk, business support, quality assurance or compliance focused role preferable. Knowledge of Irish AML regulation/Directives and wider international standards/guidance in support of AML compliance is desirable.
  5. Experience in people leader skills to manage and develop talent.
