Risk & Compliance Manager - Well-known retailer – Hybrid City centre

Your new company

You’ll be joining a market‑leading, retail organisation at an exciting stage of growth and transformation. They are based in the heart of the city, where you will spend 3 days per week, while also working in their distribution centre in Dublin west 1 day per week as well.

Your new role

As Risk & Compliance Manager, you will hold a senior, highly visible position within the finance leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and embedding risk management, loss prevention and compliance strategies across the entire business.
The scope of this role is broad and commercially impactful, covering physical retail stores, supply chain and warehouse operations, and e‑commerce activity. You will work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to safeguard assets, improve stock integrity, prevent fraud and ensure robust governance across all operational processes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting risk assessments across stock, cash, payroll, MPOS activity and e‑commerce transactions, and designing proportionate controls and policies
  • Using financial and operational data analysis to identify trends, breaches and emerging risk areas
  • Producing weekly and monthly risk dashboards and management reports with clear insights and recommendations
  • Leading and managing investigations into theft, fraud and policy violations, liaising with internal stakeholders and external bodies where required
  • Managing stocktaking cycles, analysing variances and driving corrective actions
  • Owning and controlling loss prevention and stock loss budgets
  • Building strong relationships with external partners, including logistics providers, security firms, IT and payment service providers, and relevant authorities

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial awareness and leadership capability, including:
  • Proven experience in risk management, compliance, and loss prevention in a consumer goods business – retail, manufacturing, distribution experience is a must-have.
  • Demonstrable experience working across bricks‑and‑mortar and online/e‑commerce operations
  • High levels of commercial acumen, linking risk controls and security initiatives to financial performance
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, reporting tools and investigation techniques
You will be someone who is comfortable operating autonomously, thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is motivated by making a tangible impact on business performance and integrity.
