Your new company

As a Research Officer, you will join a professional team within one of Ireland’s most reputable independent statutory authorities in Health & Social Care. The organisation has offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway, all easily accessible via public transport. This is a fixed-term opportunity offering a hybrid work model, with 1–2 days onsite per week. 6 and 11-month contracts available.

Your new role

In this role, you will become part of the Health Information and Standards Directorate, supporting operational, analytical, and reporting functions.

You will conduct literature reviews, evidence synthesis, and international best practice reviews to inform national standards and guidance. Your responsibilities will include writing reports, policy briefs, and evidence-based recommendations, as well as organising and analysing focus groups, consultations, and national surveys. You will also develop guidance and tools to support the implementation of standards, manage stakeholder engagement events, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist with document management, meetings, and administrative tasks, while supporting data governance and compliance processes.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain research experience in a reputable public sector organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will hold a Level 8 degree in health, social care, or a related discipline, and have at least 12 months of post-graduate experience in research, including literature reviews and evidence synthesis. Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of meeting tight deadlines. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialist area, such as public health, health services research, or informatics, is desirable but not essential.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a competitive salary of €39,500 per annum (pro rata) and the flexibility of a hybrid work model with 1–2 days onsite. This role offers valuable experience contributing to the enhancement of health and social care services in Ireland, while allowing you to develop your research skills within a dynamic and collaborative team.
