Your new company
Your new company is a regulatory body, responsible for developing and inspecting standards within the healthcare sector. They now require a Research Officer on a 3-month basis.
Your new role
Our client is seeking a Research Officer to undertake research using evidence synthesis to support the development of evidence-based material in the area of data quality enhancement. This includes contributing to the creation of a data quality and utility label as defined under the European Health Dataspace Regulation. The role involves organising focus groups, conducting thematic analysis, and writing up findings to inform aspects of data quality improvement. You will be responsible for analysing information from multiple sources and producing clear, concise reports to support health data holders in improving data quality. The position requires regular liaison with internal, national, and international stakeholders. You will also support the team with document management tasks, including project documentation, website content, stakeholder engagement databases, and the document management system (SharePoint). Additional responsibilities include managing meetings and correspondence, drafting letters and minutes for advisory and working groups, and following up with participants. The role also involves providing administrative support for team and directorate meetings, conferences, and seminars. Other duties may be assigned by the relevant Manager, Deputy Director, or Director as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need a degree qualification (Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent) in a professional health and social care discipline, health-related science, or another area deemed relevant by the Authority. You should have evidence of experience in conducting specific research related to health information and data quality enhancement. While not essential, an additional postgraduate qualification in a relevant field—such as public health, health services, informatics, or digital technology—is desirable. Experience with the EU Quantum project is also an advantage. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong operational expertise and a commitment to evidence-based research, drawing on a wide range of quantitative and qualitative sources to inform decisions and recommendations. They will be collaborative in nature, building trusted relationships and navigating complex situations with political and social awareness. A clear customer focus is essential, with the ability to understand and respond proactively to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
