A quantity surveyor is required immediately for a multi-million construction project in the Galway region.

Your new company

Your new company is a large tier 1 main building contractor with a wide variety of construction projects across Ireland. They are now seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a role based in Galway. It is an intermediate or senior level role that would suit someone with 4 years or more experience with a large contractor. The company operates nationwide in various sectors, including Pharma, Education, Hospitality, Health, Industrial, Commercial and Retail. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and hard-working individual to join a progressive and reputable company and one of Ireland's leading contractors. Due to their continued development and expansion, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to strengthen and enhance their team in Galway. Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with PQS & design teams
  • Identifying & preparing variation claims
  • Subcontractor appointments & accounts, monthly reporting.
  • Ability to review contract documents and formulate a strategy,
  • Materials tendering/procurement
  • Interim payments
  • Oversee the preparation and valuation of accounts,
  • Preparing and placing subcontract packages,
  • Ability to deal and settle accounts with subcontractors,
  • First-hand experience in the preparation and submission of variations and claims,
  • Preparation of final accounts, etc.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Ireland or the UK.
  • Experience working on projects in the following industries: healthcare, education, manufacturing, commercial, pharma, medical devices, food or similar
  • Have previous experience with a top 20 main contractor in Ireland or UK
  • You will be degree qualified in quantity surveying.
  • You will have 4+ years’ proven experience of working with a medium or large-sized main building contractor.
