A Quantity Surveyor is required in Galway / Mayo by a building contractor.

Your new company
You will be working within a well-established team on exciting construction projects in the west of Ireland. Due to the continued development and expansion, the company is actively seeking to hire a Quantity Surveyor for their team. The company is dedicated to sustaining its reputation for quality and excellence in the construction industry.

Requirements:
  • Third level Degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Knowledge of varying Irish Forms of Contracts and Contract Procedures and Protocol
  • Minimum of 4+ years QS experience
  • Measurement, procurement, preparation of valuations
  • Preparation of tender reports
  • Prepare the financial elements of the tender
  • Post-tender negotiations
  • Liaising with PQS & design teams
  • Identifying & preparing variation claims
  • Subcontractor appointments & accounts, monthly reporting.
  • Ability to review contract documents and formulate a strategy,
  • Oversee the preparation and valuation of accounts,
  • Preparing and placing subcontract packages,
  • Ability to deal and settle accounts with subcontractors,
  • First-hand experience in the preparation and submission of variations and claims,
  • Preparation of final accounts, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills
Previous experience working on high quality medium - large-scale public and private contracts in various sectors: - Commercial / Residential / Education
Skills:
  • Contractually and commercially astute
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Effective Team Player
  • Knowledge of Buildsoft Global Estimating/Cubit/Excel/Word
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative

Remuneration: An excellent salary plus transport will be offered.
