Our client is a family‑owned construction company based in Cavan, currently experiencing a very busy period due to a strong pipeline of live projects. As a result, we are looking to recruit a Temporary Purchasing Officer to support their team, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

Your new role

This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced environment and would suit someone with previous purchasing or construction administration experience who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.

• Purchase Order (PO) systems
• QuickBooks (or similar accounting systems)
• Managing plant, tools and equipment purchasing
• Bill of Quantities (BOQ) packages
• Supplier invoicing and docket control
• Processing requisitions
• Liaising with suppliers and managing relationships
• Quotation comparison and cost control
• Waste management of construction materials

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or construction admin role
• Familiarity with construction processes, materials and suppliers
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Comfortable working in a busy, reactive environment
• Good attention to detail and cost awareness
• Reliable, flexible and team‑focused
