Project Management role with leading Cork-based engineering consultancy

The client is one of the world’s leading providers of engineering, professional consulting, and support services, with offices across Ireland. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and collaboration, the company is committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. The Client's Roads team in Cork is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver multi-disciplinary transportation projects.


Responsibilities

  • Manage multidiscipline roads, active travel, and site development schemes.
  • Oversee contract and commercial management of projects.
  • Coordinate and manage design activities across disciplines.
  • Provide line management and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Lead business development efforts, including bid preparation and client engagement.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified (Level 8/9) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Ideally a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland or an equivalent professional body.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on roads and transportation projects in Ireland and/or the UK.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the project lifecycle: feasibility, planning, design, tender, and construction.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage project costs and timelines effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards and specifications (e.g., TII, NTA).
  • Understanding of relevant contract forms, including Irish Conditions of Engagement, Public Works Contract, and NEC.
  • Demonstrated potential for progression to more senior roles.
  • Strong collaboration skills with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent client relationship management capabilities.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Full Irish or EU driving licence.
