Project Manager – Cork | 7+ years’ experience

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Cork. Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

This role offers the opportunity to lead upcoming projects across a diverse range of sectors, including pharmaceutical, life sciences, food & beverage, and commercial construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to the construction team, driving high performance across all project phases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture on-site.
  • Develop and manage the contract programme, ensuring milestones and completion dates are achieved.
  • Execute effective short- and medium-term project planning to mitigate risks.
  • Champion quality standards, coordinating activities in line with company procedures and specifications.
  • Oversee commercial delivery, working closely with the commercial team.
  • Manage procurement and subcontractor/supplier orders in line with programme requirements.
  • Lead value engineering and product development initiatives.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide accurate reporting and forecasting for project progress.
  • Attend and contribute to client/consultant progress meetings.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant third-level degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ post-qualification construction experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge of building regulations and certification standards.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to communicate across all levels.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, staff, and subcontractors.
