Our client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering complex projects across life sciences, healthcare, commercial, industrial, education and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer to support project delivery, lead technical design and mentor developing engineers within the team.

Your new role

You will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, taking responsibility from concept design through to construction and commissioning. You will work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams while providing technical leadership within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading electrical building services design across a range of projects.

• Producing and reviewing detailed electrical designs, calculations and specifications.

• Managing project delivery, budgets and programme requirements.

• Acting as the key technical contact for clients and stakeholders.

• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

• Coordinating with BIM and multidisciplinary design teams.

• Carrying out site inspections, surveys and commissioning activities.

• Supporting sustainable and low-carbon design initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.

• Strong background in electrical building services design consultancy.

• Experience with software such as Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux and Revit.

• Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations and industry standards.

• Proven client-facing and project leadership experience.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
