Plant Manager is required in Galway to join a large main building contractor.

Your new company

Our client, a top Irish Contractor with over 80 years of experience in the construction industry, is currently seeking a proactive and organised Plant Manager to join their growing and supportive team. As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for fleet management and procurement, site and depot plant management and control, with involvement in procurement, management and logistics. You will work alongside experienced professionals on prestigious commercial, industrial, and educational projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all company-owned fleet, hired fleet & ordering leased vehicles
  • Manage all fuel cards, toll tags & oversee insurance renewal
  • Administer fuel cards & toll tags when required
  • Liaise closely with HR Department in relation to new vehicle requirements
  • Ensure all vehicles meet RSA Requirements
  • Manage the storage yard and control all logistics to and from various projects
  • Manage all Company PPE, administer to all projects.
  • Manage and track all company-owned and leased tools on site.
  • Manage site accommodation, surveying instruments, telehandlers, and all associated plant for project mobilisation and demobilisation.
  • Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated & lifting equipment is inspected on all sites
  • Coordinate delivery and removal of plant on all projects
  • Oversee repair and maintenance for all company-owned plant
  • Liaise closely with the Purchasing Manager in generating purchase orders through Coins for transport, servicing plant & ordering new plant.
  • Ensure G1 inspections are carried out on all Plant in a timely manner and certifications received.
  • Ensure all Plant are taxed, insured, with annual NCT, CVRT carried out

Education and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years experience with a main contractor (commercial project experience desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
