Your new role
The Performance Management Specialist plays a pivotal role within the Human Resources function, contributing to the continuous improvement of performance management processes across the organisation. This position supports a broad HR remit, including business partnering, data management, employee engagement, and wellbeing. The specialist will be responsible for managing the organisation’s performance management system, ensuring it is used effectively across all departments, and providing guidance and support to users. They will work closely with resolver groups to address system and user issues, escalating matters when necessary to the HR Data and Process Manager.
A key aspect of the role involves reviewing existing performance management processes and benchmarking them against external best practices. The specialist will make informed recommendations for improvement, ensuring that the organisation remains aligned with evolving standards and expectations. They will act as a central liaison between the HR management team, IT, and the software support team, facilitating timely resolution of system issues and overseeing the implementation of system enhancements.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will support the use of appropriate tools and methodologies throughout all stages of the performance management cycle, including analysis, planning, and evaluation. They will collaborate with internal communications and HR business partners to ensure performance management processes and schedules are communicated clearly and consistently across the organisation. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation and training materials will be essential, as will the creation of progress reports to monitor business performance and compliance with key timelines.
In addition to these responsibilities, the specialist will conduct audits throughout the year to assess input at all stages of the performance management process. They will also contribute to the development of coaching for performance capability and support strategic projects and people-focused initiatives that align with the broader People Experience strategy. As the designated point of contact for system-related updates, the specialist will be responsible for testing changes, updating documentation, and ensuring the business is trained accordingly. The role may also involve other duties as required, offering a dynamic and impactful opportunity for someone passionate about driving performance excellence.
