Senior HR People Experience Manager - Hybrid €95,000

Your new company

Your new company is a state-owned utilities company seeking a senior HR leader to shape and drive a high‑impact People Experience strategy across the full employee lifecycle. This role sets the strategic vision for employee experience, workforce planning, people analytics, and HR systems, while ensuring seamless execution in partnership with HR Business Partners, Talent teams, and HR Operations.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract which will go permanent over the duration of the contract.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of HR & People Experience will be responsible for driving exceptional employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle. They will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and ambition for the People Experience function, while delivering accurate, timely, and insightful metrics to HR leadership and the wider organisation. The role also partners closely with HR Business Partners, managers, employees, and specialist HR teams to design and implement initiatives that strengthen engagement, foster a positive workplace culture, and support organisational performance. In addition, they act as the key liaison between HR and functions such as HR Operations and HRIS, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and effective execution.

  • The People Experience Senior Manager will champion the organisation’s people agenda and provide strategic guidance to the broader HR team, ensuring best‑practice approaches are embedded consistently across the organisation.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s People & Culture strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and consistent application of people policies across the organisation.
  • Drive strategic people projects and initiatives that enable the broader People Experience agenda.
  • Maintain and update the HR roadmap, reviewing progress and contributing to future HR strategy development.
  • Lead the People Experience team across key activities including talent attraction, recruitment, onboarding, engagement, wellbeing, and people data.
  • Event Manage customer experience days across Ireland for all employees.
  • Manage the HR data function, ensuring data accuracy and delivering high‑quality monthly and ad‑hoc reporting.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on the HRIS, ensuring the system supports future organisational needs.
  • Develop and deliver the organisation’s strategic workforce plan, collaborating closely with Talent and HR operations teams.Champion initiatives that strengthen People Experience services, ensuring efficient administration, a positive culture, and a responsive service model for employees.
  • Lead communication strategies to effectively embed People Experience initiatives and increase awareness of engagement and wellbeing programmes.Manage the People Experience budget, ensuring value for money and recommending cost efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Assist with board paper preparation where required, ensuring all relevant information is readily available and papers are of a consistent high standard.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

What you'll need to succeed

10+ years’ experience in senior HR or people‑focused leadership roles, including at least 5 years at senior manager level. You will have a drivers licence and be avaiable for travel around Ireland. Proven expertise in leading organisational change and transformation, ideally within a utility, regulated, or multi‑stakeholder environment. Strong leadership capability with a track record of building, developing, and motivating high‑performing teams. Able to manage deadlines, adapt to evolving priorities, and provide pragmatic solutions in complex or ambiguous situations. Quickly establishes credibility, builds strong relationships, and influences effectively at all organisational levels. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and collaborate across diverse groups. Exceptional communication skills, capable of navigating complex or sensitive issues with confidence and clarity.Strong negotiation abilities with a collaborative, win‑win approach. Commercially and financially astute, with sound judgement in decision‑making. Experience implementing policies, systems, and controls, and leading the adoption of progressive people practices.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a salary package of up to €95,000. You will avail of a hybrid working model of 2 days in office and 3 days from you. You will be hired on a temporary contract through Hays and will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role during your contract.
