Payroll Officer – Multi-Country (Ireland, UK & Europe) – Louth

Your new company

A leading organisation with operations across Ireland, the UK, and wider Europe. The business is expanding its payroll function to support a growing workforce and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll be joining a dynamic environment where accuracy, efficiency, and compliance are at the heart of operations.

Your new role

As Payroll Officer, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing for Ireland, the UK, and the Netherlands, while coordinating shadow payrolls in several European countries. Responsibilities include onboarding and offboarding employees, maintaining payroll records, processing statutory payments (SPP, SMP, SSP, student loans, attachments of earnings, etc.), and liaising directly with HMRC and Revenue. You will also manage pension enrolments, produce payroll journals for finance integration, prepare audit-ready reports, and act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries. The role covers approximately 150–180 employees.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong UK payroll experience, including HMRC compliance and statutory deductions.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-country payrolls and coordinate outsourced providers.
  • Knowledge of Revenue requirements, pensions, and international payroll regulations.
  • Experience producing payroll journals, reconciliations, and audit reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills for handling employee queries and liaising with authorities.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for reporting.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll get in return

  • Opportunity to work in a growing organisation with international reach.
  • Exposure to complex, multi-country payroll operations.
  • Ownership of payroll delivery and involvement in process improvements.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including pension contributions.
  • Professional development opportunities in a supportive environment.
