Your new role

As Operations Manager, you’ll take the reins of a bustling food-focused marketplace, driving strategic growth and operational excellence. You’ll be the key liaison for vendors, ensuring strong partnerships and smooth day-to-day operations. From financial oversight and commercial strategy to marketing and compliance, you’ll lead initiatives that enhance the market’s reputation and profitability. This is a hands-on leadership role with scope to shape the future of a beloved local institution.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Building and managing vendor relationships
  • Overseeing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
  • Negotiating leases, contracts, and vendor agreements
  • Leading marketing campaigns and community events
  • Ensuring health & safety compliance across the site


What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a blend of commercial savvy, relationship-building skills, and operational leadership. You’ll be comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments and passionate about creating memorable customer experiences.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven background in operations management, retail, or hospitality
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting expertise
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in marketing, business development, and vendor relations
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations in food retail settings
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
Desirable:
  • Degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field
  • Experience in food retail or commercial property management
  • Familiarity with Cork’s local food scene and community engagement
