Night Shift Supervisor, Cavan

Your new company

Your new company is a global leader in the space of the manufacture and supply of Distribution Transformer products based in Cavan Town. It is a privately owned enterprise which has enjoyed substantial double-digit growth in recent years. The company has grown through major expansions to become a market leader in the manufacture of bespoke, quality solutions for the electrical industry. They produce and supply a large range of products and services from its 17,500sqm manufacturing facility, which has the capacity to manufacture 6,500MVA annually.
Led by a world-class leadership team, they have recently fitted the plant with over €7M in new cutting technology, robotic welding and state-of-the-art winding machines, and they are now looking for a night production supervisor to join their team.


Your new role

As night production supervisor you will report to the Head of Manufacturing and manage the growing night shift and oversee night shift activities, line productivity, improvement initiatives and personnel in terms of driving overall performance and engagement.
Team leaders ensure their team operates to maximum efficiency and will report directly to the successful candidate and KPIs will include productivity, safety, quality and personnel engagement and management.
You will be responsible for driving productivity, coaching and supporting team leaders and upholding the highest standards of safety, quality and discipline in a supportive environment.
You will also use TPM, Continuous Improvement and Kaizen techniques for a visual production line with the required flow and anticipate and remove obstacles from continuous improvement.
Creating effortless communication throughout the organisation with critical focus on your value chain and anticipating and removing obstacles from continuous improvement will also be involved in this role.
Working hours for this role are 10pm to 6am.


What you'll need to succeed

Qualification in Manufacturing/Engineering/Quality or related field is advantageous.
5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, as well as 2 years of managing a team.
Key skills include excellent written and oral communication, problem-solving and critical thinking.
Leadership skills will be very important in this role.
