Your New Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of major mechanical packages from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
Working closely with project teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Lead the delivery of mechanical projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project execution plans, programmes, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Manage project risks and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple project stakeholders.
Construction Delivery
  • Manage on-site mechanical construction activities.
  • Coordinate supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and specialist vendors.
  • Monitor installation performance, productivity, and programme delivery.
  • Resolve technical and construction-related issues efficiently.
  • Ensure effective coordination between mechanical, electrical, CSA, and commissioning teams.
Commercial Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to monitor costs and variations.
  • Review change management processes, claims, and project reporting.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
Technical & Design Coordination
  • Review technical documentation, specifications, and design submissions.
  • Coordinate design development and resolve technical queries.
  • Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and engineering teams.
  • Support BIM coordination and value-engineering initiatives.
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications and industry standards.
Procurement & Supply Chain
  • Oversee procurement schedules and equipment deliveries.
  • Monitor supply chain performance and long-lead items.
  • Manage supplier relationships to support project schedules.
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the project.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.
  • Conduct safety reviews, audits, and inspections.
  • Oversee quality inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Manage project documentation and close-out processes.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Act as the primary contact for mechanical delivery throughout the project life cycle.
  • Maintain a professional and solution-focused approach to project challenges.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Degree, diploma, or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong background in mechanical building services including HVAC, pipework, plant installations, and associated systems.
  • Experience managing projects from design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery processes.
  • Excellent commercial, financial, and programme management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience within data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, semiconductor, commercial, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of BIM and digital construction practices.
  • Previous experience delivering fast-track construction projects.
  • Additional project management or health and safety qualifications.
  • Experience working on projects across Ireland, the UK, or Europe.
