Mechanical / Process Engineer - Little Island, Cork - Data Centre Projects

Your new company

A specialist mechanical and process engineering contractor delivering installation, pipe fabrication and project support services across industrial and regulated environments, including pharma and data centre projects. The business has a strong pipeline of work and continues to grow its engineering team in Cork.


Your new role

Based in Little Island, you will provide engineering support across the design, installation and commissioning of mechanical and process systems. Working closely with project managers, site teams and clients, you will ensure technical, quality and safety requirements are met throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design, installation and commissioning of mechanical and process systems

  • Developing, reviewing and approving technical drawings, P&IDs and specifications

  • Assisting with method statements, risk assessments and technical documentation

  • Carrying out system walkdowns and inspections to ensure compliance with design and quality standards

  • Supporting troubleshooting activities during construction and commissioning phases

  • Liaising with project managers, clients and site teams on technical matters

  • Overseeing testing, validation and handover of mechanical and process systems

  • Maintaining accurate reports, records and as‑built documentation

  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental policies


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical/process engineering role

  • Experience on construction, pharmaceutical, data centre or industrial projects

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping and utilities

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&IDs

  • Experience with commissioning, validation and handover processes

  • Proficiency with engineering software and digital documentation tools

  • Safe Pass and relevant site safety certifications

  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and communication skills
