M&E Estimator - Hourly Rate - Dublin office

Your new company
Your new company is a leading Electrical and Mechanical engineering contractor that employs 2,000 highly-skilled professionals across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. They provide full Electrical and Mechanical contracting services as well as specialist high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) design and construction services. They work with clients across a number of different sectors, including Data Centres, Life Sciences, Industrial, and Power and Renewables.

Your new role
In your new role as an M&E Estimator, you will be a key member of the Preconstruction & Estimation team. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with the initiative and skills to manage workload to meet necessary deadlines. Excellent time management, prioritising, and communication skills are essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work required for mechanical systems.
  • Prepare accurate estimates of the cost of materials, labour, and equipment needed for mechanical systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other vendors to ensure that materials and services are priced accurately and competitively.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop value engineering ideas to optimise costs and project schedule.
  • Coordinate with other traders to ensure accurate integration of all systems. Develop proposals and bid packages for mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate change orders and provide estimates for changes in scope of work. Conduct post-project cost analysis to evaluate and improve estimating accuracy.



What you need to succeed
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical estimating.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and project plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.


Pay Range and Compensation Package:
You will be paid at a competitive hourly rate between €30 to €40 per hour. These are typically paid for 40 hours per week, and you will be paid for any overtime hours worked. This comes out to approximately 60k to 80k when converted to an annual salary.
This is open to PAYE and self-employed workers.
