Junior Sales Executive | Accounting managing & Business Development Experience | Permanent, East Cork

Your new company

Join a well-established freight forwarding and logistics organisation based in Little Island, Cork. Working as part of a busy sea freight team, you will support the smooth day-to-day operation of import, export and logistics activities in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.

Your new role

As a Junior Sales Executive, you will support the sales function through customer communication, quotation preparation, sales administration and coordination with operations. Working closely with the Sales Manager and wider team, you will help maintain customer relationships, manage enquiries and support the growth of the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting day-to-day sales administration and customer follow-up activities
  • Preparing, issuing and following up on customer quotations
  • Maintaining accurate customer, prospect and sales records
  • Responding to customer enquiries and providing a professional first point of contact
  • Building relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers and internal teams
  • Monitoring leads, quotations and sales activity within company systems
  • Liaising with operations to ensure customer requirements are communicated accurately
  • Supporting customer onboarding and maintaining customer information
  • Assisting with sales reports, pipeline updates and activity tracking
  • Researching prospects, markets and customer opportunities
  • Managing sales-related emails, calls and correspondence
  • Providing administrative support to sales, operations and management teams
This role would suit someone who enjoys customer interaction, has strong organisational skills and is interested in building a career in sales within the logistics and freight forwarding sector.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, administration or a customer-facing role is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
  • Good numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
  • Ability to prepare and follow up on quotations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, shipping or supply chain would be beneficial.
  • Experience with CRM systems, CargoWise or similar software would be advantageous.
