Your new role

As a Lead Hydromorphologist, you will lead projects focused on maintaining, restoring, and creating watercourses to achieve good ecological status. This role involves assessing current conditions, designing restoration strategies, and ensuring watercourse integrity in the context of infrastructure development and environmental regulations. You will collaborate with technical specialists across Ireland and the UK, delivering high-quality solutions for clients including water companies, community groups, and government bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver hydromorphology and geomorphology projects from concept to completion.
  • Conduct field assessments of river channels and watercourses.
  • Develop innovative restoration and management approaches.
  • Prepare technical reports, tenders, and client presentations.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business growth.

What you'll need to succeed

    • Degree in science or engineering: ideally a postgraduate qualification in hydromorphology, geomorphology, or related field.
    • Significant hands-on experience in hydromorphological assessment of rivers and watercourses.
    • Strong knowledge of geomorphology and hydromorphology, including flood management, nature restoration, and channel design.
    • Understanding of Irish hydromorphology systems and regulatory frameworks.
    • Proven track record as a hydromorphologist in consultancy, water companies, regulators, or academia.
    • Experience leading projects from problem definition through analysis and recommendations.
    • Excellent numerical, analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to survey, assess, and report on hydromorphology.
    • Experience with tender preparation and project costing.
    • Full, clean Irish driving license.
