Our client is a Dublin-based engineering company and a global leader in climate control technologies, specialising in the design, production, and maintenance of high-performance cooling systems for mission-critical environments, particularly data centres.
Your New Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled, organised, and detail-oriented HVAC Service Engineer to join their team in Dublin to carry out service and maintenance of mission-critical cooling systems in Ireland. You will be reporting to the Service Manager. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment, particularly in the data centre sector.
Responsibilities
- Deliver precise, timely, and high-quality servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of HVAC systems for customers, ensuring compliance with company standards, safety policies, and industry best practices.
- Attend customer sites as scheduled and directed by service coordination and management teams.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to manufacturer or third-party specifications.
- Diagnose system issues, identify faulty components, and determine root causes of failures accurately.
- Complete repairs to original factory standards and execute quoted works within the agreed scope and budget.
- Operate diligently within mission-critical environments, adhering to all site-specific requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulations and legislation, including Health & Safety and F-Gas requirements.
- Follow all Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) procedures for every task.
- Provide detailed and accurate service reports within KPI timelines using company service management tools.
- Identify and pursue additional maintenance and service opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Support colleagues outside your primary region when workload demands.
- Work independently when required, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Share feedback and technical insights with quality assurance teams to support continuous product improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to relay field observations and recommendations.
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and security protocols always.
- Contribute to other business areas when needed, including project engineering, technical support during sales processes, and product support activities.
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Recognised qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, HVAC, or Mechanical / Building Services.
- At least four years of experience in a comparable position.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including direct expansion (DX) and associated controls.
- Valid F-Gas certification.
- Hands-on experience with air handling units, CRAC / CRAH systems, split systems, and VRF technology.
- Familiarity with adiabatic cooling and chiller systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
