Senior HVAC & Chillers Specialist - Cork

A leading data centre technology provider is experiencing continued growth and is now seeking an experienced HVAC & Chillers Technical Support & Training Manager to join their expanding technical team at a state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Cork.
This is a key leadership role responsible for global technical support and technical training across a mission‑critical HVAC product portfolio.


Your new role

In this position, you will lead both the technical support and technical training functions, providing expert-level HVAC and refrigeration knowledge while developing robust training programmes for internal teams, service partners and international customers.
You will oversee advanced troubleshooting, manage escalations, support commissioning activities and work closely with design, R&D and field service teams to maintain best‑in‑class product performance.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support Leadership

  • Manage all internal and external product and technical support functions.

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of technical support engineers.

  • Provide advanced support for mission‑critical HVAC and refrigeration systems.

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across refrigeration circuits, controls and communication systems.

  • Coordinate with engineering and field service teams to resolve critical issues.

  • Support commissioning, performance verification and warranty investigations.

  • Ensure support requests are delivered within KPI targets.

  • Escalate complex cases to subject matter experts when necessary.

  • Develop tools and resources that allow customers to self‑diagnose issues.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and timely resolution of technical enquiries.

  • Provide first‑line field support for service teams and managers.

    Training & Technical Documentation

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product and technical training strategy.

  • Produce and update service documentation, technical bulletins and troubleshooting guides.

  • Create detailed technical training materials for internal staff, service partners and customers.

  • Work with digital teams to deliver online and self‑guided training modules.

  • Build structured training programmes: classroom, virtual and hands‑on factory workshops.

  • Manage training facilities, demonstration rigs and software simulation tools.

  • Deliver technical courses and support mentorship programmes, including apprenticeships.

  • Support engineering teams in authoring manuals, guides and control system documentation.

  • Drive technical knowledge sharing across regional teams.

    Operational & Project Support

  • Prepare reports and recommendations based on technical and service data trends.

  • Support project managers in delivering commissioning works to the highest standard.

  • Identify service and maintenance opportunities with both new and existing customers.

  • Maintain professional conduct and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability and customer excellence.

  • Provide feedback to QA/QC teams and support investigations when required.

  • Contribute customer insights to aid product development.

    Additional duties may be assigned as required.


What you'll need to succeed

Approximately 10 years’ experience in a relevant HVAC, refrigeration, technical support or engineering role.
Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, refrigeration, controls and diagnostics.
Proven experience managing technical teams and delivering structured training.
Excellent communication, leadership and customer‑facing skills.
Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced technical environment.
