Your new company
Your new building contractor is one of Ireland's largest and most respected for their build quality and values, which would be, teamwork, excellence and respect. They pride themselves on their quality, safety and environmental processes.
We have worked closely with them for over 15 years, and they operate in sectors such as Life Science, Data Centres, Renewables, Infrastructure and General Building, which includes internal fitout work. They are a well-respected and great organisation to be apart of.
Your new role
Your new role is in the South of the City near the canal. It is a commercial office space with several months remaining until handover. The building is watertight with internal work and external facade management still to be completed.
They require a strong, competent site manager to commence with them, paid on an hourly rate (this is common for them) and to progress to other projects thereafter. They typically work 45–50 hours per week, and you will be paid for each hour on site. You will work closely with other management on site and be responsible for safety, quality and management of the programme.
This is one of several management roles within the organisation at present.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a competent site manager able to work on your own initiative with prior experience managing on large-scale builds, be it commercial space or residential etc.
You will have a flair for the management of subcontractors and be competent with IT systems.A trade or educational background will be beneficial, but the main factors are reliable, competent and hard-working.
What you'll get in return
You will be well paid for this role.
The hourly rates are paid as a PAYE or self-employed worker - PAYE will be inclusive of holidays and Bank Holidays and doesn't have a range but is typically up to €40.00 per hour (100k on standard working site hours).
The self-employed hourly rate could be as high as €50.00, which would equate to €115,000+ again, on standard site hours (50 hours). This can be a short-term stopgap if you want it to be or a long-term prospect. The contractor has work for the next 5+ years currently on their books.
Whether it's finances, progression or the size and scale of the contractor, they are a brilliant organisation to work for, and for the right manager, they can make a strong career and push for more senior roles.
