Your new company
A global-leading provider of engineering, infrastructure, and environmental services, delivering essential projects across transport, utilities, defence, and public services. The organisation works in close partnership with clients to design, maintain, and improve critical infrastructure, helping communities function efficiently and sustainably.
With a strong focus on innovation, safety, and sustainability, the business delivers long-term value through expert asset management and forward-thinking solutions. Employees benefit from working on high-impact projects, supported by a collaborative culture that prioritises professional development, inclusion, and career progression.
The Opportunity
The client is experiencing rapid growth in Ireland, driven by three major recent contract wins across the transport and rail sector. As part of this expansion, they are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Business Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping, embedding, and leading H&S capability across a growing rail and transport portfolio.
This is a high-impact role where you will operate as a trusted adviser, influencing project delivery across light and heavy rail projects, while helping to build best-in-class safety systems aligned with Irish regulations.
You’ll join a business with a strong professional development framework, supported by external H&S expertise, and real opportunity to influence how H&S is delivered in a fast-growing Irish operation.
Key Responsibilities
As the H&S Business Partner, you will:
- Provide H&S leadership and practical support across rail and wider transport projects (light & heavy rail)
- Produce, review, and maintain H&S documentation, including Safety Plans, Safety Statements, and Safety Management Systems
- Act as an adviser on PSCS and PSDP duties, ensuring full statutory compliance
- Oversee occupational health compliance across both construction and corporate environments
- Audit, review, and continuously improve H&S standards, processes, and procedures to meet Irish legislative and regulatory requirements
Essential Experience (Must-Have)
- Proven Health & Safety experience within the transport and/or rail sector
- Track record supporting major infrastructure or construction programmes in Ireland
- Strong working knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Previous experience working in the Republic of Ireland (this is essential)
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience working on large-scale rail, highways, utilities, or complex infrastructure projects
- Exposure to multi-site or matrix project environments
- Experience supporting safety systems during periods of rapid organisational growth
Core Technical Expertise & Qualifications
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, equivalent Irish-recognised qualification)
- Strong understanding of Irish construction and transport safety regulations
- Experience producing and auditing formal H&S management systems
Key Behavioural Traits
- A confident and credible adviser, able to influence at all levels
- Detail-focused and compliance-driven, without losing sight of delivery
- Comfortable working autonomously within a growing and evolving organisation
- Pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and commercially aware
Rule-Out Criteria (Please Note)
- Candidates must have worked in the Republic of Ireland
- Candidates must be based in Ireland with deep, practical knowledge of Irish H&S regulations
What you'll get in return
- €80,000 – €105,000 DOE
- Dublin City Centre office location
- 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday
- Permanent, salaried position
- Be part of a rapidly expanding Irish rail portfolio
- Opportunity to shape and influence H&S strategy, not just maintain it
- Strong investment in professional development
- Work on high-profile transport projects in a growing market
