Health & Safety Advisor – 12‑Month Contract

You’ll be joining an organisation with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and welfare across all its locations. Based primarily in Central Park, the role also involves travel to branches nationwide. Your new role
As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will:
  • Support the H&S team in developing and maintaining safety practices, programmes, and initiatives.
  • Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of internal H&S training programmes.
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Liaise with emergency procedure leads and training providers to ensure safe evacuation processes.
  • Provide guidance on legislative requirements, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Assist in developing and implementing H&S plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and review the Safety Statement and Safety Management System.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits, maintain records, and monitor corrective actions.
  • Support the “Safely Working from Home” risk assessment programme.
  • Maintain accurate H&S documentation and reports.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist with analysis and reporting of unsafe incidents.
  • Liaise with external agencies as required.
  • Advise management on all matters relating to employee health and safety.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Degree or Higher Diploma in Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Health & Safety role.
  • Qualification as a Manual Handling Trainer.
  • DSE Assessor/Trainer certification.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
