Head of Facilities Role – Excellent Salary + Benefits Package

Your New Company
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Estates, Campus Strategy and Facilities to lead the strategic development and operational excellence of their multi-site estate and campus environment. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping long-term estate strategy, delivering major capital projects, and ensuring best-in-class facilities management.
The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership across estate master planning, infrastructure development, and operational services, ensuring that the physical environment is future-ready, safe, sustainable, and aligned with organisational priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Campus and Property Masterplan aligned with organisational growth and strategic objectives.
  • Shape the vision for campuses and buildings, including teaching environments, workspace transformation, accessibility, and sustainability.
  • Advise senior leadership on estate optimisation, site capacity, and long-term asset management.
  • Provide executive oversight of major capital works and refurbishment projects.
  • Manage consultant and contractor partnerships, ensuring governance, performance, and risk control.
  • Oversee planning submissions, procurement strategies, and design governance for quality outcomes.
  • Lead governance of Total Facilities Management (TFM) contracts, ensuring service excellence and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee delivery of hard and soft services including maintenance, safety, security, cleaning, catering, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory requirements.
  • Manage estate operations across multiple sites, acting as the senior escalation point for incidents and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, HR, and other teams to ensure resilient and high-performing campus operations.
  • Advise senior governance bodies and prepare high-level reports, business cases, and risk assessments.
  • Lead internal communications and change management for campus-related projects.
  • Oversee capital and operational budgets, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Lead procurement strategies for consultants, contractors, and service providers.
  • Drive workspace transformation initiatives, hybrid-working strategies, and accessibility improvements.
  • Create environments that support teaching excellence and staff engagement.
  • Lead and develop the Estates & Facilities team, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
  • Manage contracted staff, TFM partners, and specialist consultants.



What You Will Need to Succeed
  • Proven experience in estate strategy, capital project delivery, and facilities management at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Expertise in governance, compliance, and financial management.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-site operations and deliver transformative projects.
