Your new company
A renewable energy group based in Dublin City that have expanded rapidly over the last few years, with a very strong pipeline of development projects in the coming years. They are rapidly expanding both in terms of projects and headcount to support and as a result they have a need for a Group Accountant to join the finance team. There is a permanent role available but as the finance team are approaching year-end they need immediate support and as such are going to market on a 6 month contract initially, with a strong view to permanency for the right candidate.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, and joining a team of 5 overall. This Group Accountant job will support predominantly on group accounting, consolidation, preparation for year-end reporting and audit. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and manage monthly group financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare management accounts for 3–4 holding companies ahead of year-end
• Preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Preparing memos and papers for the year-end audit, liaising with external auditors (big 4)
• Eliminate intercompany transactions and manage intercompany loans, interest, and reconciliations.
• Analyse financial data to deliver insights on group performance and support strategic decisions.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls to protect financial integrity and ensure data accuracy.
• Drive improvements in reporting systems, automation, and internal finance processes.
• Coordinate audit processes and liaise with senior stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration.
• Contribute to finance transformation projects, advising on ways to improve projects and leverage systems and tools
• If the role becomes permanent, you will be responsible for leading group budgeting and cashflow planning.

What you'll need to succeed

• You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
• The ideal candidate will be big 4 trained with some experience in industry in a small-medium-sized group company setting.
• Experience with group accounting, group consolidated reporting, group audit
• Ability to streamline and automate processes, currently some are more manual on Excel
• Ideally experience with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
• Open-minded, confident communicator, team player, someone solution-driven who loves to learn new things
